Darkening of the Light Book Trailer

Darkening of the Light: Witnessing the End of an Era, a new book by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee, is a witness to the loss of the light of the sacred reflected in our continued destruction and desecration of life's fragile ecosystem. This story of our collective destiny, however painful, needs to be heard if we are to take responsibility for the Earth and reclaim our sacred role as guardians of the planet.

Cry of the Earth

Cry of the Earth
We hear the cry of the world and we respond to that cry

"Creation itself is now calling to us, sending us signs of its imbalance. If we acknowledge our sacred role as guardians of the planet we will see the power of our prayers, our capacity to reconnect the earth just as we have cut it off. We are the connection between the creator and the creation. This is the special role of human beings." —Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee

In our prayers and devotions, we need to reconnect with the sacred substance in creation. We need to place the earth within our hearts, and nourish it with our love, and offer it in remembrance of God.

Interview for One through Love

Two clips with Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee
from One Through Love: Jalaluddin Rumi and Shams of Tabriz

Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee was interviewed as part of the film project One Through Love. This project aspires to create a cinematic, experiential sense of the Sufi mystical experience, using the teachings and revelations that emerged through the lives, poetry and writings of Hz. Jalaluddin Rumi and Shams of Tabriz. While known for centuries to millions of people throughout the Middle East and Asia, in the past decade, Rumi’s teachings have attracted a growing number of people in western countries. This discovery of Rumi and Shams in the west has greatly expanded and re-energized the power and timelessness of the teachings.

Prayer

Prayer
with Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee

Prayer is a way to be with the Divine -- from the prayer born from need, where we tell God our needs, to the deeper prayer which takes us beyond any words into the oneness and silence withine the heart. Prayer can also offer a vital contribution to the need of the present time, to our global divisions and ecological crisis.

Global Spirit: The Journey Towards Oneness
with Ravi Ravindra and Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee

Clip 1: The Journey Towards Oneness (2:40 min)

Clip 2: Global Spirit: A Model of Our Time (2:34 min)

This episode aired on LinkTV on June 14, 2009: Global Spirit: Journey Toward Oneness

Beneath the seeming differences that separate the world’s religions, there is a deep undercurrent of teachings that point in the direction of Oneness, or “Unity Consciousness” — the indivisible totality of all creation, all beliefs, all religions and of the universe itself. The Journey Towards Oneness explores the concept of Oneness, and traces its evolution and expression through seemingly different religious and spiritual traditions.

In this Global Spirit episode, host Phil Cousineau is joined by physicist Dr. Ravi Ravindra, who comes from the Hindu tradition but holds a close personal association with Krishnamurti and the Gurdjieff teachings, and Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee, a Naqshbandi Sufi teacher who has studied Jungian psychology, and who has written extensively about unity consciousness within the Sufi tradition. Together, these two guests bring a wealth of insights and revelations to the discussion, spanning the realms and understandings of both science and mysticism. This program also features films from The Global Oneness Project.

Oneness and the Path of Love
Recorded in 2007

Talking from his own experience, Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee describes how the Sufi path takes one into the depths of the heart where divine love is always present. This love opens us to a direct knowing of the oneness that is the mystical secret of life. This consciousness of oneness, an awareness of the unity and the interconnectedness of all of life, is vital at the present time of global change and transformation. Through this awareness we can learn how to work with the oneness in everyday life and so make our own individual contribution to help the world to awaken.

It is also possible to purchase a DVD of the interview. Click here for details.
