Biography

Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee, Ph.D. is a Sufi teacher. Born in London in 1953, he has followed the Naqshbandi Sufi path since he was nineteen. In 1991 he became the successor of Irina Tweedie, who brought this particular Indian branch of Sufism to the West and is the author of Daughter of Fire: A Diary of a Spiritual Training with a Sufi Master. He then moved to Northern California and founded The Golden Sufi Center.

Author of several books, Llewellyn has specialized in the area of dreamwork, integrating the ancient Sufi approach to dreams with the insights of Jungian Psychology. Since 2000 his writing and teaching has been on spiritual responsibility in our present time of transition, and an awakening global consciousness of oneness (see www.workingwithoneness.org), including the feminine and the anima mundi (world soul). More recently he has specifically focused on spiritual ecology (see www.spiritualecology.org).

Cry of the Earth (3:49 min)

"We hear the cry of the world and we respond to that cry." Creation itself is now calling to us, sending us signs of its imbalance. If we acknowledge our sacred role as guardians of the planet we will see the power of our prayers, our capacity to reconnect the earth just as we have cut it off. We are the connection between the creator and the creation. This is the special role of human beings.

MARCH 2013
Spiritual Ecology: article by Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee
Published in the Interspiritual E-Zine, The Coming Interspiritual Age, page 71.

"As we stand at the edge of the abyss of climate change, species depletion and other effects of our continued ecocide, there is a vital need to make this shift into oneness: to relearn how to live in harmony with the whole with which we are so interconnected. We cannot afford to continue our present self-destructive behavior that is pushing us towards the "tipping point" of an ecological imbalance with unforeseeable global consequences."

Spiritual Ecology

Spiritual Ecology: The Cry of the Earth, www.spiritualecology.org

Spiritual Ecology is an exploration of the spiritual dimension of our present ecological crisis. In particular these resources explore the interrelationship between our outer, physical ecological situation, our awareness of the sacred in creation, and our inner relationship to the symbolic world of the soul—and how this effects our own soul and the soul of the world, the anima mundi.
